FAQ
How many yards can you bring per trip?
Our CemenTech C60 holds 10 yards of fresh material.
What is your minimum order quantity?
No local minimums! You only pay for what you pour!
How far can you deliver?
We can accommodate just about any location you should need! The benefit of our Volumetric service is since we don’t make the concrete until we are on-site, we can deliver to almost anywhere you need without losing valuable set time!
What size rock do we use?
We use ¾” round/washed rock – due to the gradation of the rock it goes down to ¼”.
Do we provide wheelbarrows or line pump?
We do not carry or provide a wheelbarrow or any pumps. Customer supplies the means to transfer the concrete from the chute to the form if it is not accessible from the chute. If a line or boom pump is needed, we work closely with several local vendors and can coordinate these services upon request.
How many wheelbarrow loads is 1 yard of concrete?
10-12 wheelbarrow loads.
How long does it take for concrete to set up?
It depends on several different factors, but normally you can walk CAREFULLY (no twisting) in 12 hours. In 48 hours, you can remove forms, but it is best to leave them on for 7 days if possible. In 7 days you can park a car on it, as you will have 70% strength at that point. Full cure is at 28 days.
How thinck does it need to be?
We recommend 4” on driveways, patios, sidewalks, hot tub/sauna pads, and generally speaking most slabs that we pour to comply with ASTM standards.
Do we need to use rebar or Fiber Mesh?
Depending on the use, usually for driveways or other heavy use areas it helps to reduce cracking.
Do we need to have a gravel base? If so, how deep should it be?
We do recommend it. 2” -3” of compacted base gravel is best.
What tools do I need? And where can I get them?
You should have a Bull Float, Edger, and Hand Trowel. You can buy these at any of the big box stores (Lowes, Home Depot etc).
How many pier blocks does 1 yard of concrete make?
One yard will fill about 10-12 pier blocks.
Do we finish and or remove old concrete?
No we do not but we do have a very close relationship with a crew that does this work for us should you need help with that part of it.
What does Air Entrainment do?
Air Entrainment is the introduction of very small air bubbles in fresh concrete. When the concrete hardens, the air bubbles form small voids which gives concrete additional durability in freezing-thawing conditions, which is vitally important in Montana. All of our Mix-Designs come standard with Air Entrainment included in the price.
What is Accelerator and Reducer?
Accelerator helps concrete set and gain strength faster, which is especially useful in colder weather or when you need to get the job finished quickly. It reduces wait time for finishing.
Reducer improves workability without adding extra water, essentially lubricating the mix. It makes the concrete easier to place and finish while maintaining strength. Less water means a stronger, more durable final product with less shrinkage and cracking.
How many yards of concrete does it take to make the following:
Standard driveway (20x40x4”) = ~ 10 yards

Hot Tub Pad (9’x9’x4”) = ~ 1 yard
Pier Blocks: 1 yard fills about 10-12 pier blocks
8” Blocks: 1 Yards fills 80 blocks
12” Blocks: 1 Yard fills 50 blocks.
How many bags of Sakrete do I need to make 1 yard?
60lb Bag – 60 / 80lb bag – 45 / 90lb bag – 41
How much does 1 yard of concrete weigh?

Cold Weather Pouring FAQ
What temperature is too cold to pour concrete?
Concrete should not be placed when ambient temperature is below 40°F and falling, unless adequate protection measures are in place.

Yes, with proper precautions including heated water, insulation, and protection from freezing for a minimum of 3-7 days.
How long does concrete need to be protected in cold weather?
Minimum 24 hours until concrete reaches 500 PSI, typically 3-7 days for full cold weather protection.
What happens if fresh concrete freezes?
Concrete that freezes within the first 24 hours can lose up to 50% of its potential strength permanently.
